Engineered Timber Stair Treads and Nosings

Combined with engineered timber stair nosing and treads, engineered timber flooring and stair treads can be a great alternative to solid hardwood flooring as it is less prone to the expansion and contraction issues that can sometimes occur with traditional hardwood flooring, due to the stable nature of an engineered floorboard substrate.

Most engineered floors being pre-finished, also eliminates the need for sanding and polishing, meaning that the entire process can be more time efficient and cleaner than installing a traditional hardwood floor.

The Leading Engineered Timber Stair Nosing

Many staircase specialists offer a service to manufacture nosings from engineered flooring products or a full solid tread option in a compatible timber colour and/or type which can be a great option, especially in open staircase situations.

Holzbau’s point of difference, however, is that we also offer our design-registered Arrowhead® corner protection solution.

When using our engineered timber stair nosings, we highly recommend the addition of our design-registered Arrowhead® aluminium nosing insert for added durability, and corner protection.

Arrowhead® anodized profiles are only available from Holzbau and provide superior corner protection to the leading edge of the stair nosing while providing a high-end designer finish. 

Our Arrowhead® profiles come in plain anodised silver (matte finish), matte black and champagne.
